Almost There.....

We are just two weeks away from joining the "trying to get pregnant" club.  It seems like we have been waiting forever.  First we were going to start trying in January.  Then I decided we needed a little more time to prepare  (ie: pay bills off and save more money...of which we've made very little headway, since life seems to keep getting in the way).  Anyway, we are just two weeks away, and it seems like the time has flown by so quickly.  Now all the thoughts of morning sickness, heartburn, and aches and pains are starting to seep in and freak me out just a little.  Not that I am a stranger to any of these, since I am practically a professional childbirther, but the thoughts of wondering if I/we are really ready, are still there.  I wonder if one is ever really ready, but I know it all works itself out in the end.  Chad seems to think we will be pregnant within a month or two, but I am not so easily convinced, as I will soon be 38, and my eggs are probably on covered in cobwebs, and will need a walker to get from point A to point B.  After having three children of my own (when I was much younger), and doing 5 rounds of IVF to conceive 3 surro-kiddos, coupled with working on an antepartum unit, makes one way to knowledgeable about everything that can go wrong during the process.  I do however, have faith that it will all work out however it is meant to, and just have to accept that someone other than me is in charge.  Ready or not, parenthood, here we come again!

The Pill-less life...

I have to say, it was very strange not to be taking my BCPs last night.  This will be the first time in a very long time...like years, and years, that I have not taken a birth control pill....other than for a surrogacy related pause.  I kept thinking all night, gotta remember to take my pill, and then would have to remind myself, nope, it's all good.  Very strange I tell ya.  It will be interesting to see how my body does without all the hormones I've been pumping into myself for the last 12 years or so.  Let's hope my body does what it's supposed to do and we can get onto the business of baby making!

Ob-gyn yesterday....

Ok, so while I love the fact that my OB-Gyn is so wonderful, I do not like that fact that so many other women also think so.  I already know he is in high demand when it takes about 2 months to get in for an annual exam, but seriously.  The waiting room was full, and with only one person checking people in, the line was at least 3 women deep at any given time.  My appointment was at 10, but I didn't get called back until about 10:30.  And although I had worked a 13 hour shift the night before, and was going on no sleep, I didn't really mind waiting, because as I said, he is wonderful!

Anyway, it looks like I'll be going off the pill after I finish this pack so we can see if I'm ovulating in preparation for the baby making in a few months.  Let's all hope my periods come regularly (the best indication of ovulation), so that we don't have to look at the Clomid option.  Yay!  It's nice to finally be starting towards the baby making in June!

WHATEVER!

So I suppose now we're supposed to believe this crazy loon went from photo A, to photo B, with no assistance from plastic surgery?????  I'm sorry, I'm all for hard work and all, but can I just say...liar, liar, pants on fire???!!!???

Her skin alone would hang down to her clown car vagina.  Not to mention the fact that her belly looks like a freaking road map of the US in the before picture...did she discover a magic cure for stretch marks while "working out".  Nope, sorry, I call foul on this one.  My educated guess is she got her new body the same way she got all those babies she didn't really need....good old fashioned medial intervention....and I'm guessing she didn't have to pay for it either.  Nice to know all those kids are paying off for her in such a productive manner.  All aboard the crazy train!

Happy New Year's Eve....

2009 was a great year for the Carnes clan....I graduated from nursing school, we bought our first house, Jordan graduated from high school(and made it through her first semester of college), and none of our girls got pregnant(haha...kinda).

Some things we hope to accomplish in 2010....keeping up with my blog much better, losing a few(or a lot depending on how you look at it) of pounds, paying of debt..although this might take until 2011, but we'll give it our best shot, finish getting the new house in order, getting knocked up with a new addition to the Carnes clan, and none of our girls getting pregnant!

Happy New Year everyone! I hope you all have a wonderful 2010!
